Superstarch from Generation UCAN is a unique heat-treated gluten and GMO-free corn starch that has revolutionized the physical performance of many athletes.

Superstarch gives unlike traditional sport drinks

  • A steady supply of glucose as substrate during sports activity
  • maintained or improved fat oxidation during fat oxidation during and after sports activity
  • An efficient storage of glycogen in the recovery phase without affecting fat oxidation
  • Minimum adverse effect on the digestive system
  • Better able to maintain or improve body composition for hard-training athletes

Superstarch was originally developed by Scottish scientists in order to provide patients with the glycogen storage disease (Glycogen Storage Disease) a even blood sugar over a longer period of time. The patients can not break down glycogen into glucose (blood sugar) and therefore have difficulties in maintaining a steady blood sugar unless they are regularly given carbohydrates.

Superstarch was developed with a patented heat treatment method. Two scientific studies have shownthat it can provide patients with glycogen storage disease continuous energy in the form of blood glucose compared with conventional treatment (1,2). Generation UCAN has the rights to use the same patented heat treatment method for the preparation of Superstarch for physical performance.

In a randomized double-blind study (3) 10 trained male cyclists either received Superstarch or maltodextrin (carbohydrate in traditional sports drink) before and after 150 minutes of cycling activity at 70% of maximal oxygen uptake. The cyclists who got Maltodextrin had eight times higher insulin levels compared to those cyclists who got Superstarch. Maltodextrin gave a increase in blood sugar levels with subsequent decline that was not noted in the Superstarch group.  people who got Superstarch.

In addition to the direct effects on the metabolism Superstarch also gives other great benefits for athletes compared with traditional sports drink. Superstarch is a glucose polymer with a high molecular weight of 500,000 to 700,000 g / mol. By its high molecular weight and thereby low osmolality (number of particles in a certain amount of liquid) absorption in the gut is slowl and gentle.

Traditional sports drink often lead to problems in the digestive system. Superstarch enables an increased intake of carbohydrate than traditional sports drink when the need exists. Superstarch also enables an efficient glycogen after activity as well as maintaing and enhancing body composition by that insulin levels are kept constant low.

For maximum physical performance that lasts up 2.5 hours 1 gram per kg of body weight 30 minutes before the beginning of the action is recommended. Within 30 minutes after the activity  an equal amount is recommended for maximum recovery. Activities that last longer than 2.5 hours 30-60 grams every two hours or is recommended.

Superstarch is a powder that is mixed with water. Superstarch comes in several flavors, but we at Succeeder has chosen to only offer plain (no flavor) and Raspberry (Raspberry) were the latter is sweetened with stevia. Other available flavors use sweeteners that we advise against.
